Working with copper, iron and bronze, Paddy McCormack creates award pieces and trophies, one-off sculpture and a range of lamps, candlesticks, vases, bowls and jewellery. He uses the forge, oxy/acetylene and techniques both learnt and self-taught. He is inspired by the effect that texture, colour and form has on people and he is influenced by great artists from Leonardo da Vinci to Gaudi.
In the early 1980′s, Paddy set up The Craft Floor at the Resource Centre in Dublin’s Temple Bar. After receiving a diploma in musical instrument technology at the London College of Furniture, he moved to New Zealand. Here, he sold his work for eight years through retail, galleries and private commission.
Returning to Ireland in 1997 with his wife and three children , he continues to market his work in the same direction.
Paddy’s range of pieces are available in galleries and selected design and craft stores and direct from Paddy’s workshop . Private commissions are welcome.
